Professional Bike Fitting

Stacks Image 201
Watts Up provides the gold standard of bike fitting as used by many top professional teams and riders.
We use 3D motion capture which enables real time capture, this in turn ensures we get a complete picture as to the riders functionality.
Using years of cycling knowledge I work together with you the client to discuss what your preferred outcome would be. That might be an aggressive racing position or something much more suitable for getting out and enjoying the most comfortable position possible.

In today’s sporting world of marginal gains, a correct bike set up is crucial to gain optimum performance.
The technology has improved so much over the years in this area that it really is a crucial part of your whole cycling package.

A fitting session includes:

  • Fitting by Andrew Roche, Over 10 years fitting experience Retul qualified
  • 3D analysis to capture movement in real time
  • Video capture
  • Saddle assessment using measurement and trial
  • Cleat positioning
  • Footbed recommendations including in house custom options

* Youth fittings are charged at the full rate on first visit, with 2 remaining visits within the space of 12 months. The remaining 2 visits will be charged at £35 each. This is for under 16's only.

* Multiple bikes can be fitted in one session. Contact me for pricing.

* Any new bikes bought via WUP will receive a free bike fitting as courtesy for your business.

Bike Finder Session

The bike finder session is aimed at those looking to purchase a new bike or frame, but not entirely sure what size to get. Not only size, but more importantly the intended use.
For example, there's no point buying an aggressive race bike if your purpose is leisure riding. These are areas we discuss to ensure you end up with the best bike for you.

This can be done remotely or in person.

Wattbike or Peloton type virtual fitting

With your home stationary bike, you will know this is something you're not going to be able to transport to a fitting studio with ease. I offer a virtual fitting for these bikes which can be arranged over a call to run through requirements needed in order to get the best set up for your stationary bike.
This is done with clear instruction so you will be able to video yourself riding which will then be analysed with adjustment recommendations.

How this is done:
  • Pre arranged call to give clear instruction on items needed
  • You will need a means of videoing yourself riding, an iPhone is fine for this.
  • A basic understanding of how to adjust your bike
  • Video footage is analysed
  • Adjustments made, repeat video capture repeatedly until the correct set up is done

What to Expect

The goal is to ensure the rider leaves with the best fit for them, we work through an assessment and discuss any injuries or issues with their current set up.
Measurements are compared with each adjustment until we end up with the optimal position for the rider.
A rider profile is created with measurements from the fit as well as final bicycle measurements using the zin tool. This information is all forwarded to the client.
